FOX’s “Rake” Ratings Sink for Episode Two

Update: Mirroring the fall in the overnight metered market numbers, FOX’s “Rake” slipped considerably in the adults 18-49 demographic.

After drawing a 1.7 adults 18-49 rating in last week’s fast nationals, “Rake” this week posted a meager 1.3. It attracted 5.30 million viewers.

Earlier in the night, a weakened “American Idol” drew a 3.1 with 11.23 million.

Once the king of television, it barely registered as competition for 8-8:30PM juggernaut “The Big Bang Theory.”

While “Idol” scored a 2.8 with 10.43 million viewers from 8-8:30PM, “TBBT” posted a 5.1 with 18.87 million viewers.

Prospects are not rosy for FOX’s new dramedy “Rake.”

After premiering to a tepid 4.5 overnight metered market rating last week, the series fell deeper into the ratings basement this week. Thursday’s episode drew just a 3.6 overnight metered market rating.

An old-skewing show, last week’s unimpressive 4.5 overnight number translated into an even more unimpressive 1.7 adults 18-49 rating. If this week’s adults 18-49 number endures the same 20% fall as the overnight number, it will land in the paltry 1.4 territory.

“American Idol,” which again led into “Rake,” scored a 7.5 overnight rating. Last week’s broadcast drew an 8.0.
