CBS Confirms Madonna for Grammys, Still Silent on Beyonce, Jay Z

Virtually all major media outlets are reporting that spouses Beyonce and Jay Z will perform a duet at Sunday’s 56th Annual Grammy Awards ceremony.

Many of those outlets are saying they will open the show with “Drunk in Love,” the hottest song from Beyonce’s new album.

Save for a commercial that apparently aired Sunday (and has since become unavailable), broadcaster CBS, however, has remained conspicuously absent on the matter. The Recording Academy similarly makes no mention of a Beyonce-Jay Z collaboration on its Grammy.com website.

CBS, which has revealed Grammy performers in several waves of press releases, issued another one Friday. Like its predecessors, it exists absent any reference to Beyonce or Jay-Z.

It does, however, confirm rumors that Madonna will be performing on the show. It also newly announces Juicy J and Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue.

Miranda Lambert and Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong will collaborate for an “In Memoriam” tribute to Phil Everly.
