“SNL” Ratings Fall for John Goodman, Kings of Leon Episode

The notion of John Goodman returning as a “Saturday Night Live” host had its appeal for some people, but that appeal was not strong enough to prevent a ratings decline.

Saturday’s “SNL,” which featured Kings of Leon as the musical guest, drew a 4.5 overnight household rating with a 2.1 in the adults 18-49 demographic.

Paul Rudd and One Direction, the featured performers on last week’s “SNL,” drove the episode to a 4.9 household number with a 2.5 in the demo.

Though down considerably from those numbers, Saturday’s episode avoided hitting a season low in either column. November’s Josh Hutcherson-HAIM episode drew a low 2.0 adults 18-49 rating, while the October Edward Norton-Janelle Monae episode posted a 3.9 household number, the season’s lowest in that category.
