Update: The CW’s “Reign” Ratings Steady, Viewership Up for Fall Finale

Update: Thursday’s fast national data is available, and it reveals that The CW’s “Reign” closed the fall portion of its first season on a steady note.

“Fated,” Thursday’s fall finale, matched last week’s 0.6 adults 18-49 rating. At 1.86 million, its viewership average was up from last week’s 1.66 million. If the number holds in the Nielsen finals, it will cement the fall finale as the most watched edition of “Reign” since the series premiere.

Earlier in the night, lead-in “The Vampire Diaries” posted a 1.1 rating with 2.44 million viewers.

Ratings for The CW’s “Reign” have been subject to little weekly variation, and this week’s early number does nothing to transform that image.

“Fated,” Thursday’s fall finale, delivered a 1.4 overnight metered market rating. Up one tenth from last week’s number, the household number falls firmly within the show’s inaugural fall range.

After posting a 1.5 for its October 17 premiere, the period soap has delivered either a 1.3 or 1.4 in each of its subsequent seven airings.

“The Vampire Diaries,” which also aired its fall finale Thursday, delivered a 1.7 overnight rating in the 8PM hour. That number also improved upon last week’s performance by a tenth of a ratings point.

Both shows return with new episodes on January 23, 2014.
