TNT’s “Mob City” Premieres to Disappointing Ratings

It might come from original “The Walking Dead” showrunner Frank Darabont, but TNT’s limited event series “Mob City” did not deliver “Dead”-sized ratings.

Wednesday’s two-hour premiere attracted just 2.3 million viewers. The show’s 801,000 viewers in the adults 18-49 demographic will likely translate into a tepid 0.6 demo rating.

Cable networks often push their core demographic as 25-54, but insofar as “Mob” only drew 875,000 viewers in that category, shifting the focus will not change the analysis.

Set to run through December 18, the six-episode series focuses on “the decades-long battle between Los Angeles Police Chief William Parker and mob figure Mickey Cohen.”
