Lady Gaga’s “Dope” Single Surges on iTunes, Bieber’s “Bad Day” Follows

Justin Bieber might not be having the “Bad Day” suggested by his new “Music Monday” song, but Lady Gaga is having a much better one.

Outpacing the new Bieber song by a 2:1 ratio, “Dope,” the latest promotional release from “ARTPOP,” earns Gaga another number one position on the iTunes singles chart.

Bieber’s song is still moving units, however, and it recently surpassed Eminem’s “The Monster” for the number two position on the chart.

Presently at number three, “The Monster” should, nonetheless, reclaim the top spot once the initial enthusiasm for “Dope” and “Bad Day” dies down.

Familiar tracks like Lorde’s “Royals,” One Direction’s “Story of My Life,” Katy Perry’s “Roar,” Eminem’s “Survival,” Avicii’s “Wake Me Up” and OneRepublic’s “Counting Stars” occupy the next several slots in the top ten.

The only other new entry comes from Britney Spears; her “Perfume” is currently occupying number ten.
