SNL Ratings Climb for Kerry Washington, Eminem Episode

Excitement over Kerry Washington and Eminem assured the “Saturday Night Live” ratings decline would not extend to three.

The entertainers, who served as host and musical guest, respectively, ignited improved performance for Saturday’s edition of the NBC sketch comedy series.

According to Local People Meter data, Saturday’s “SNL” delivered a 2.6 adults 18-49 rating. Up 24% from the rating for last week’s Edward Norton/Janelle Monae episode, it represented the show’s best performance since the 2.7 for Miley Cyrus’ gig on October 5.

The show’s 4.9 overnight household number, meanwhile, was the series’ best since the Justin Timberlake edition on March 9, 2013. Benefiting from Timberlake’s reputation as an elite “SNL” host, that episode drew a whopping 5.9 household number.

Highlights of Washington’s episode, including a cold open that addressed the show’s racial homogeneity and a parody of “The Fox,” are available here.
