Absent an original episode of CBS’ “The Big Bang Theory,” Thursday was tailormade for a “Scandal” ratings victory.
The buzzworthy ABC drama made good on that opportunity.
Leading out of veteran “Grey’s Anatomy,” which posted a 2.7 adults 18-49 rating with 8.88 million viewers, “Scandal” delivered a 2.9 adults 18-49 rating with 9.22 million viewers.
Down only slightly in the demo despite the potential impact of Halloween, “Scandal” was the night’s top-rated show in the adults 18-49 demographic. Its viewership average, however, ranked fourth behind CBS’ 8PM “Big Bang” re-run (2.5 rating, 11.56 million viewers), new 8:30PM comedy “The Millers” (2.0 rating, 9.57 million) and “Elementary” (1.6 rating, 9.35 million).
“It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown,” which aired in the 8PM hour for ABC, drew a healthy 2.2 rating with 6.96 million viewers.
