UFC’s White: Jon Jones, Alexander Gustafsson Rematch “Makes Sense”

With both fighters hospitalized after their grueling UFC 165 main-event, it would be impossible for UFC President Dana White to immediately confirm a second dose of Jon Jones vs. Alexander Gustafsson.

But following the closely contested battle, White is definitely interested in the rematch, noting that he would “like to see” it and that it “makes sense.”

Going into the fight, top contender Glover Teixeira appeared en route to a title shot against the winner of the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship contest. That presumption, however, entered the conversation before Alexander Gustafsson pushed the seemingly-unbeatable Jones to the limit, losing a close decision on the official scorecard but garnering the support of many critics and fans in the process.

While White would not definitively confirm Jones’ next title defense, his attitude towards a prospective rematch certainly confirms Jones vs. Gustafsson II is possible.
