“Total Divas” Ratings Sink Against WWE Summerslam

Whether the drop could be entirely attributed to WWE Summerslam seems unclear, but its existence in the Sunday television universe surely did not help E! reality series “Total Divas.”

Ratings for episode four of the series, which chronicles the lives of several female WWE performers, fell from last week’s high-mark. Down from a 0.9 to a 0.7 in adults 18-49, Sunday’s episode attracted 1.35 million viewers. Last week’s show drew 1.67 million.

In addition to representing a drop from last week’s number, the viewership count is also the lowest since the “Total Divas” premiere.

Still, given what shows like “Chasing the Saturdays” and “The Wanted Life” were delivering in the timeslot, “Divas” is performing very well for E. Its success in performing above its solid premiere level several weeks into its run is a particularly rare and valuable accomplishment.

Even if this rating was not artificially deflated by Summerslam–and becomes par for the course–“Divas” is still more than justifying the network’s decision to order an additional six episodes.
