Brodus Clay Responds to WWE WrestleMania 29 Snub

It was not a noteworthy match by any means, but its conspicuous absence from WWE WrestleMania 29 absolutely made headlines.

Though WWE made no formal announcement regarding the match, time constraints forced it to drop an advertised 8-person tag between Tons of Funk/The Funkadactyls and Team Rhodes Scholars/The Bella Twins from Sunday’s WrestleMania card.

Noting that several minutes were devoted to Sean “Diddy” Combs’ musical performance, fans were quick to criticize WWE over the situation. It should be noted, however, that WWE did not devote time to the usual array of backstage skits and promos. It also kept some of the undercard matches, notably the Tag Team Championship match, to a very short time limit.

Even in a four-hour broadcast, time was clearly a hot commodity.

Still, fans were anxious to get some official commentary on the situation, and Brodus Clay, one-half of Tons of Funk, was the first to comment.

In life we have set backs and disappointments sometimes you need your heartbroken to know how much you love it #365toredemption Nyadonothat,” wrote Clay on Twitter. “funkateers much love don’t get down we will work harder! we will be better! best thing about being down is getting back up #hardindapaint!”
