Following confirmation from numerous correspondents that The Undertaker was at Sunday’s Nashville Predators hockey game, rumors are flying that the legendary wrestler will be appearing on Monday’s RAW.
That RAW, as would be situationally obvious, takes place in Nashville.
Reports as recent as last Wednesday said that The Undertaker’s status for WrestleMania was still uncertain, but if he did ultimately make the decision to wrestle, WWE would want to commence his program as soon as possible. Insofar as The Undertaker’s streak assures his WrestleMania match will be one of the top bouts, it is important to get considerable lead time on the accompanying storyline.
Granted, the appearance at the NHL game could have been a mere coincidence or a sign that Undertaker will simply be visiting backstage at RAW. It is by no means a confirmation that he will be appearing.
But if he is booked to appear, it will be interesting to see how he is utilized. Most are under the impression that Taker is tentatively slated to wrestle CM Punk at ‘Mania, but if his program were with Punk, it would be intriguing to launch that angle prior to Punk’s title match with The Rock at Elimination Chamber.
Brock Lesnar had also been identified as a potential opponent for The Undertaker, but Lesnar’s current storyline–which included attacking Vince McMahon–seemed tailormade to rekindle his feud with Triple H for a rematch at the big show.
