Grammys Can’t Keep “The Walking Dead” From Hitting Series High Ratings

Concern about launching “The Walking Dead” against Sunday’s Grammys telecast proved to be for naught; the AMC drama’s midseason premiere set another ratings record.

Sunday’s episode scored a 6.1 adults 18-49 rating with 12.3 million viewers, both of which represent series highs for the “TWD,” now in its third season. That 6.1 demo number represents the best rating for any drama series–cable or network–this season and puts the show in the close ballpark of “The Big Bang Theory” for the title of top scripted series on televisoin.

“Talking Dead,” which now airs at 10PM out of the first-run “Walking Dead,” debuted to an impressive 4.1 million viewer tally.
