“Washington Heights” Ratings Grow Slightly in Week Two

By no means is MTV’s new reality series a hit, but “Washington Heights” at least avoided the second-week slump that plagued “BUCKWILD.”

According to Travis Yanan, Wednesday’s episode attracted a 0.4 adults 18-49 rating with 865,000 viewers, marking a gain of more than 100,000 sets of eyeballs. And while the demo rating was identical, that similarity is a product of rounding, as this week’s episode attracted about 60,000 more viewers in that segment.

“Heights” has a long way to go to avoid being labeled a disappointment, but as one can never look lightly upon second-week growth for a new series, this week was much brighter for the series than it could have been.

The audience required to secure a second season order remains unclear.
