Backstage WWE TLC News; The Shield Impresses, Ryback Concerns

It was a joint case of bad news and good news for the stock of Ryback at WWE Tables, Ladders and Chairs this Sunday.

On the one hand, the Brooklyn crowd’s lack of reaction to Ryback’s entrance did not go without notice, and PWInsider.com reports that it raised some concern about the extent to which he has gotten over since being elevated to the main event.

While Northeast crowds are notorious for supporting their own favorites rather than those specifically pushed as babyfaces by WWE, the concern here was not that Ryback was perceived as a heel but that he did not initially elicit must interest at all.

To his credit, Ryback powered through the disappointing reaction and successfully rallied support as the acclaimed match progressed. By the time he made his late match comeback, a significant portion of the audience was screaming, “Feed me more!”

— All three members of The Shield impressed in their WWE television debuts. Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins were all praised for making the most of the rare opportunity for newcomers, and their work greatly increased optimism that they will emerge from this storyline as legitimate stars.
