Ke$ha’s “Warrior” Album Sales Start Softly, Wiz Khalifa Leads

Strong radio presence and a seemingly-endless supply of catchy singles is keeping her profile high, but as far as album sales go, Ke$ha’s newest release is far from an “Animal.”

“Warrior,” her sophomore LP, is tracking for 80-85,000 first-week sales, according to Hits Daily Double. While a respectable bow for a pop album, that projected tally is down significantly from the 152,000 figure attained by “Animal” in its January 2010 debut.

The modest interest in “Warrior” assures Wiz Khalifa’s “ONIFC” will debut as the hottest new release. But with a projected opening week total of 135-145,000, the Khalifa album will also be down from its predecessor; “Rolling Papers,” on the power of “Black & Yellow,” moved 197,000 copies in its 2011 bow.

Florida Georgia Line, which is enjoying success in the singles game courtesy “Cruise,” will move at least 50,000 copies of “Here’s to the Good Times.”
