Despite Talk of Legit Injury, John Cena Wrestles on WWE Show Tuesday

In a tidbit that should settle the debate over whether John Cena suffered a legitimately-serious injury at Monday’s WWE RAW, the wrestler worked the Saturday Morning Slam tapings Tuesday.

Cena wrestled against 3MB member Heath Slater, revealing the high improbability that he is dealing with a major knee ailment.

During an exchange with Dolph Ziggler on Monday’s RAW, Cena appeared to legitimately roll his ankle while exiting the ring. He limped as he chased Ziggler up the ramp.

WWE later built a storyline around a potential meniscus tear, first showing a WWE official wrapping up his knee and then having Ziggler attack the bodypart in a backstage brawl.

Cena followed up the storyline by Tweeting about getting an MRI on Tuesday.

Early Tuesday morning, some media sources claimed that the injury was totally legitimate and totally unexpected, going as far as to suggest that the entire backstage angle involving Cena’s knee was scripted on the fly. Others, however, said that the knee injury was absolutely part of the script–the only question was whether or not Cena was legitimately injured going into Monday’s RAW.

By working a match Tuesday, Cena seemingly reveals that he was not–and is not–legitimately hurt.
