When Brock Lesnar retired from UFC Saturday night, he did so while still under contract with the dominant mixed martial arts organization. Technically, that means he is under the same restrictions he was Friday, and is unable to simply jump over to WWE.
At the same time, if he is not going to actively compete in the Octagon ever again, it seems inevitable that the opportunity will arise for Lesnar to pursue another venture. But for the time being, UFC President Dana White is keeping quiet on whether a deal will be worked out to facilitate a return to the squared circle.
“I don’t know,” said White, according to MMAJunkie. “We’ll figure it out.”
Following his second consecutive first-round loss and his third-consecutive first-round struggle, Lesnar’s value as a draw in WWE has undoubtedly taken a hit. At the same time, he still brings a big name to the table, and matches with either The Undertaker or a returning Steve Austin would make for compelling draws.
