Police: Kurt Angle Was Over Legal Limit in Drunk Driving Arrest

Kurt Angle’s claims that he was not above the legal blood alcohol content limit when arrested this weekend are not entirely true, say Virginia State Police.

According to state troopers, who processed Angle’s arrest when he was driving erratically early Sunday morning, Angle’s initial breathalyzer test came back at a .091, which is above the legal-limit of .08.

He took a test later at Front Royal police headquarters, which produced the .06 figure Angle sources have claimed publicly.

Police were turned onto Angle’s driving by a witness, who reported to police that a Ford Taurus was driving “all over the road.”

“I made contact with the driver and detected the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage,” trooper CR Scally wrote in the police report. “I asked Mr. Angle, whom I identified by his Pa. drivers license, how much he had to drink and he replied he had three beers.”

In addition to the breathalyzer, the officer added that Angle failed or struggled with multiple sobriety tests and had glassy, bloodshot eyes.

Angle is charged with a DWI as a first-time offender.
