Triple H made his presence felt at Tuesday’s SmackDown! tapings, and some of the announcements–set for Friday’s show–will impact the upcoming Summerslam pay-per-view.
As noted earlier, one of those announcements was the identity of the SmackDown! brand main-event at the August pay-per-view.
He also discussed some of the developments from Monday’s RAW, which saw CM Punk return, title in hand, to confront “new” WWE Champion John Cena in the ring. Spoiler details on that announcement are below:
Triple H announced that Punk, in storyline, has re-signed with WWE effective Monday. HHH will address the WWE Title situation on Monday’s RAW.
It should be noted that while all indications are that WWE will have a title re-unification match at Summerslam, that bout is not yet listed on WWE’s official Summerslam card.
