WWE Not Down on The Miz, The Rock Eyed For More WWE TV, Summerslam?

In what has made for a very intriguing development, despite taking the title from The Miz at Extreme Rules, WWE has suddenly been booking the wrestler as strong as it ever has.

A criticism of The Miz’s title reign was the fact that he was never really made to look like a main-event-level threat. His most notable “clean win” came over John Morrison, who is hardly viewed as being at the same level as baby face names like John Cena and Randy Orton.

But in losing the belt at Extreme Rules, Miz nonetheless had one of his most impressive PPV performances to date. He similarly shined on Monday’s RAW, during which he temporarily “won” the WWE Championship back prior to a decision reversal from the referee.

F4WOnline.com reports that WWE has internally claimed it will continue portraying Miz as a top-level Superstar, as it remains high on his work and PR-friendly image, which draws on his “Real World” background to score bookings on late night talk shows.

WWE had always planned to get the belt on Cena, and it is stressed that Miz losing the title is not to be seen as a burial. If anything, some say Miz was booked to hold the belt longer than initially planned due to how well he performed.

— Based on how well The Rock delivered for WWE in the WrestleMania 27 build, sources say the company wants to book more appearances from him prior to the build for next year’s match with John Cena at WM28. The Summerslam build is an ideal location for another Rock appearance.
