Plans for Triple H vs. Undertaker at WrestleMania, Jim Ross’ Role, Cole, Lawler

As of press time, WWE was again leaning in favor of closing this year’s WrestleMania pay-per-view with Triple H vs. Undertaker, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter notes.

Ending the show with that match was WWE’s original plan, but momentum began to shift in favor of John Cena vs. The Miz, since The Rock, who has made it clear that his biggest involvement will be in that match, has emerged as the top drawing card on the show.

Recently, however, the Michael Cole vs. Jerry Lawler feud has actually been out-pointing both the HHH-Undertaker and Cena-Miz-Rock dynamics in terms of favorable reviews and intensity, although that will obviously not be going on last.

It is still possible WWE will go with Cena vs. Miz as the show-closer, especially if The Rock’s live appearance on RAW this week draws big interest.

On the subject of that Cole-Lawler match, sources say that the current plan still calls for the two to work as announcers for the early portion of the show. Many believe Jim Ross will at least appear to call that match, although nothing has yet been confirmed.
