The New York Times Monday reported details of the upcoming “WWE Tough Enough” revival, confirming that the show will be in a valuable timeslot when it returns this spring.
USA Network, which is reviving the reality series that ran on MTV last decade, has slotted the show for 8PM on Mondays. That means the weekly show, which looks at WWE hopefuls being trained for a potential breakout in the business, will lead into RAW every week.
Previously, the expectation had been that “Tough Enough” would air at 11:05PM, scoring the RAW lead-in. While that would have been helpful in assuring a portion of the weekly RAW audience stuck around for “Tough Enough,” there are far more potential eyeballs to reach at 8PM. The primetime slot reveals USA Network’s confidence in the reality revival.
The season premiere is, however, slated for that 11PM slot on Monday, April 4. The show will then move to 8PM for subsequent airings.
