Wade Barrett “Rehires” John Cena for WWE TLC, Nexus Turns Back on Otunga

This week’s WWE RAW featured a number of developments for Sunday’s TLC pay-per-view, but the focal point was the storyline “rehiring” of John Cena.

Having made it abundantly clear that it was unwilling to truly adhere to the “John Cena is fired” stipulation by keeping its flagship Superstar off television, WWE officially nullified the stipulation by having Wade Barrett “rehire” John Cena on RAW. The rehiring sets up a Chairs Match between Barrett and Cena at the TLC show.

A “condition” of Cena’s rehiring also called for a match between Cena and David Otunga, who last week had informed Barrett of the ultimatum that if Barrett did not rehire Cena, Nexus would rid itself of its leader. Predictably, the match was a setup–in a mirror of last week’s incident with Wade Barrett, Nexus turned its back on Otunga, leaving him helpless against Cena.

— WWE confirmed additional matches for the TLC show. John Morrison and Sheamus will compete in a ladder match to become the number one contender for the WWE Championship, while Natalya and Beth Phoenix will wrestle LayCool in a Tables Match.
