WWE’s Linda McMahon Wins Primary, WWE NXT Eliminates Another

The Republican US Senatorial primary election in Connecticut has been called in favor of former WWE CEO Linda McMahon, setting the candidate up for a presumed showdown with Dick Blumenthal in the general election.

According to CNN, with 58% of the vote tabulated, McMahon holds a 19-point lead over fellow Republican Rob Simmons and is a lock to win the primary election once all ballots are counted.

— WWE brought its NXT contestant total to five this week, officially eliminating Lucky Cannon from the show. While Cannon’s elimination was reasonably expected, the NXT Poll was not entirely in line with predictions–Alex Riley, considered a frontrunner to at least make it to the final elimination, dropped to number five in the poll, falling behind even Husky Harris.

The poll read as follows:
1) Kaval
2) Michael McGillicutty
3) Percy Watson
4) Husky Harris
5) Alex Riley
6) Lucky Cannon

Two wrestlers will be eliminated next week.
