TNA Wrestling made its own waves Friday by virtue of a Dixie Carter announcement claiming the company is about to change forever.
Early Friday, TNA’s President tweeted, “Been up for hours. So excited I can’t sleep. TNA’s about to change forever. Can’t wait to share it w/you, my staff, the talent.”
Friday night, she expanded the story to note, “Just got off phone w/Spike prez Kevin Kay. He is all in and agrees this will change TNA on every level.”
PWInsider.com reported that one change is expected to involve a change to the creative team. The names with whom TNA have been talking include Kevin Sullivan and Paul Heyman. For Heyman to accept the position, sources say he would require extensive creative control of the process.
No odds have been placed on the specific likelihood of Heyman or Sullivan starting with the company this weekend, but the belief is that a major shake-up is planned for creative.
It should be noted that the creative change is not, however, the only big modification planned. Sources, including PWInsider.com, say something much more sweeping is also expected.
