WWE’s Truly Surprising Release, Backstage Mickie James Heat

— Add more fuel to the speculation fire regarding the role Mickie James’ alleged attitude problems played in spurring her WWE release.

PWTorch.com reports that James had a reputation for showing “true diva” behavior backstage. It was reportedly a big issue, with one source claiming it was the kind of problem that should have been addressed a long time ago.

— While the recent Mickie James and Shelton Benjamin releases were surprising to fans, F4WOnline.com reports that some insiders were caught more off guard by the release of Slam Master J. The son of Terry Gordy (his real name is Terry Ray Gordy, Jr.), Slam Master J had heavy backstage support from Michael Hayes, who apparently views the wrestler as a son.

Some believe the Michael Hayes backing was the only reason he even had a job in WWE, and there was thus surprise that Hayes’ protection ultimately proved unable to keep the wrestler safe from a “future endeavors” announcement.
