UFC Confirms Chuck Liddell Will Fight Rich Franklin, Not Tito Ortiz

UFC officially announced Monday that Chuck Liddell vs. Rich Franklin will headline the UFC 115 event in Vancouver.

Rumors that Liddell would be fighting Rich Franklin, as opposed to his opposing “The Ultimate Fighter” coach Tito Ortiz, emerged last month, but UFC President Dana White initially shot them down, claiming Franklin was to fight Randy Couture. Recently, however, White had been less blunt in his denial of the Liddell-Franklin match, and it now appears certain that something happens on this season’s “TUF” that results in Ortiz’s departure.

Set for June 12, the event is booked for General Motors Place and will be the promotion’s debut in the city. Other matches are as follows:

Mirko Kro Cop vs. Pat Barry
Martin Kampmann vs. Paulo Thiago
Carlos Condit vs. Rory MacDonald
Tyson Griffin vs. Evan Dunham
Mac Danzig vs. Matt Wiman
Ben Rothwell vs. Gilbert Yvel
James Wilks vs. Peter Sobotta
Ricardo Funch vs. Claude Patrick
Mike Pyle vs. Jesse Lennox
