Big Update On WWE’s Plans For The ECW Roster

While recent reports have suggested that some of the undercard ECW wrestlers are on alert as they prepare to learn of their futures, a new take from F4WOnline.com is that few, if any, will be released in the short-term.

WWE, in storyline, has made it clear that all members of the ECW roster will become “free agents” and have to find a spot on another brand when the show is replaced by WWE NXT in two weeks. This undoubtedly has produced a sense of jeopardy for some wrestlers, as it will seemingly be difficult to incorporate all of the ECW talent into meaningful roles on RAW and SmackDown.

Nonetheless, WWE will apparently at least try to find post-ECW opportunities for the bulk of the roster in the immediate term.

Regarding tag teams and duos, the latest word is that WWE will keep some of the key groups together. William Regal and Ezekiel Jackson, Zack Ryder and Rosa Mendes and Caylen Croft and Trent Barreta are all currently slated to be kept together as WWE divides the talent across its RAW and SmackDown! brands.
