— In an update to the story on Chris Jericho and Gregory Helms getting arrested on charges of public drunkenness, TMZ reports that Matt Hardy was also present at the time of the incident.
Witnesses allege that Helms physically struck several of his fellow passengers in a taxi cab, leading to the driver pulling into a Kentucky gas station and calling 911. At that point, the allegation is that Helms and Hardy took off on foot–Helms eventually returned and submitted to the intoxication arrest with Chris Jericho, while Hardy did not return. Police, nonetheless, are not pursuing Hardy on any alleged crime.
TMZ reports that Helms was accused of striking at least three passengers–Jericho, another man (Gary Kelley) and a female (Ashley Storer). None pressed charges against Helms, so police could not book him on any assault charge.
F4WOnline.com, however, says sources within WWE are disputing the TMZ report. F4W’s sources say that Helms never hit Storer; the report also paints Hardy’s participation in a different light, noting that he only fled the scene as an attempt to chase and retrieve Helms.
CM Punk and Christian ended up posting bond for Jericho and Helms.
