While WWe is known for changing its creative plans on the fly, WrestleMania season applies an additional pressure for the company to narrow down its outlook for its big main event storylines. Because the Royal Rumble winner is traditionally booked as a challenger for one of the world titles at WrestleMania, a rough idea as to who WWE wants in the ‘Mania main-event must be sketched in January.
But that does not stop WWE from changing things chaotically in the days prior to the Royal Rumble. While WWE reportedly has its plan, the idea has changed numerous times in recent weeks and will likely change again.
F4WOnline.com reports that the current idea calls for Triple H to win the Royal Rumble, setting up a match with his workout partner Sheamus at WrestleMania.
Shawn Michaels would then win a match at Elimination Chamber (either an actual Chamber match or a one-on-one affair with Batista) to claim a shot at the Undertaker. Since The Rock does not seem warm to the idea of wrestling John Cena, Batista would likely fill the role as the popular RAW star’s WrestleMania opponent.
Another obvious idea that was considered involved Shawn Michaels and Triple H tying in the Royal Rumble, allowing them to choose Undertaker and Sheamus, respectively, as WM opponents.
