While a lot could get in the way of the match happening, the latest word is that WWE eyes Jeff Hardy vs. CM Punk for WrestleMania 26.
At the time of his departure this summer, the impression had always been that he would return for a match with Punk at WrestleMania. Though no movement has been made in that direction, some still anticipate a Q1 2010 return to build the program.
One potential inhibitor is Hardy’s ongoing drug-related case. With Linda McMahon’s political intentions still in play, the feeling is that WWE would not want to bring him back until the case gets put to bed.
