— WWE confirmed Friday that its three-hour RAW on December 14 will feature another edition of the “Slammy Awards.”
To be guest-hosted by comedian Dennis Miller, the show will feature awards for Superstar, Match and Diva of the year (presumably among others).
— The story that WWE had been in touch with Hulk Hogan about guest-hosting RAW shortly before he signed with TNA came up independently of Hulk Hogan’s interviews, although there is still some speculation that Hogan was the sole source responsible for disseminating the story.
In any event, it is said that while WWE Chairman Vince McMahon might have been surprised by the Hogan-TNA announcement, he did not show much of a reaction at the SmackDown! tapings that week. And, as has been well documented, the entire situation was fully downplayed when the rating for iMPACT! made only a minor jump–a jump which did not extend to the Hulk Hogan announcement quarter hour.
