Shane Carwin Confirms New Date For UFC Fight With Brock Lesnar

Number one UFC Heavyweight contender Shane Carwin confirmed that a new date has been selected for his fight against champion Brock Lesnar.

“Looks like it is posponed till Jan 2. I had h1ni myself and I understand how devastaing it can be,” wrote Carwin on his Twitter, alluding to the fight being tentatively booked to headline the UFC 108 event.

Originally slated for UFC 106, the Lesnar-Carwin fight was postponed due to an illness Lesnar had been suffering; sources say it had kept Brock out of training for about a month and thus rendered him unable to effectively prepare for the championship battle. While Carwin references H1N1 in his Tweet, it should be noted that it has not been publicly confirmed that Lesnar was indeed suffering from that particular viral strain.
