— Sources say that WWE creative once again made a last-minute call against putting the Intercontinental Championship on Dolph Ziggler.
Ziggler had previously been scheduled to defeat Mysterio for the belt this summer, but because Mysterio had been promised a long-term title reign when he and WWE management developed heat over pay, a political call was made to postpone the Ziggler title victory.
Dolph was then reportedly booked to beat Morrison at Breaking Point, only for the match to be called off in favor of keeping Morrison as champion for a few additional weeks.
It finally appeared Ziggler would claim the gold at Hell in a Cell, but WWE made a call late in the week to keep the belt on Morrison. While specifics on the decision are not known, the feeling is that the belt is better served by being on John Morrison at press time.
— The World Championship match at WWE Bragging Rights is expected to be Undertaker vs. Batista vs. CM Punk vs. Rey Mysterio.
