UFC News: Dana White Shoots on Rampage, Florian-Guida, UFC 102

— Speaking to the press ahead of UFC 102: Couture vs. Nogueira, UFC President Dana White shot on Quinton “Rampage” Jackson in the wake of reports that he will star as B.A. Baracus in the upcoming “The A-Team” film.

“I hate it with a [censored] passion,” said White of fighters who show interest in movie roles. “You’re a fighter; you’re not a movie star. It’s so [censored] funny because fighters want to be movie stars, and movie stars want to act like they’re fighters. Get a [censored] grip. You’re a fighter, and you’re a [censored] movie star. Alright?”

Apparently frustrated over the possibility that shooting for the film could impact Rampage’s scheduled UFC 107 main event with opposing “The Ultimate Fighter” coach Rashad Evans, White previewed an upcoming conversation he will have with Jackson.

“‘Guess what Rashad Evans is thinking about right now,'” White plans to tell Rampage. “‘He’s thinking about beating your [censored] ass. He’s not sitting around thinking about how him and his mom used to watch the [censored] Love Boat together and [how] he wants to get the role of Isaac the bartender.'”

“So yeah, I’m not a big fan of fighters doing movies. When your career is over, if you turn into a movie star, that’s awesome,” closed White.

— Kenny Florian vs. Clay Guida is being eyed as a lightweight matchup for UFC 106.

— The winner of Demian Maia vs. Nathan Marquardt, the second-from-the-top bout at UFC 102, will join Dan Henderson in the contention mix for Anderson Silva’s Middleweight Championship. Henderson publicly picked Marquardt, explaining that while Maia is a dominant submission specialist, Marquardt is good all-around and should have a significant standing advantage.
