— A report on F4WOnline.com says that WWE is hoping to secure LeBron James, who was previously confirmed as a “definite” guest host, for next week’s edition of RAW. The report nonetheless confuses the location, saying the event takes place in Cleveland (home of James’ Cleveland Cavaliers)–it actually is scheduled for the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit. WWE tapes its SmackDown! and ECW programs in Cleveland the next night.
(Update: The F4WOnline.com report appeared to at least partially hinge on the incorrect notion that next week’s RAW was in Cleveland, as the site is now only confident that James will host at some point in the next few weeks. Next week is still a solid possibility, though; WWE is expected to announce the 8/31 host during tonight’s telecast.)
— As a promotional effort to boost interest in the September 19 boxing bout between WWE RAW host Floyd Mayweather and Juan Manuel Marquez, Mayweather Promotions, Golden Boy Promotions and Marquez Promotions announced that the event will air in HD on select nationwide movie theater screens.

In other Mayweather news, despite news of the Las Vegas shooting controversy breaking Monday, the boxing champ will appear on tonight’s WWE RAW.
Manager Leonard Ellerbe confirmed the RAW appearance and also denied that Mayweather had any involvement in the shooting.
Boxer Floyd Mayweather’s Rolls Royce was searched Monday in connection with a shooting outside a skate rink in Las Vegas. Witnesses said they spotted Mayweather’s vehicle at the scene.
