— In promoting tonight’s WWE RAW, the company is hyping Freddie Prinze, Jr.’s well-documented status as a pro wrestling fan. The frontpage of WWE.com says that Prinze will be fulfilling a lifelong dream as tonight’s host.
— According to the PWTorch.com Newsletter, Homicide has been telling friends that he was denied a request for a TNA release last month.
— As an interesting note on the RAW hosting concept, two of the names Variety said were in talks to host–Ashlee Simpson-Wentz (who would host with husband Pete Wentz) and Ashton Kutcher–are affiliated with shows on The CW. Simpson-Wentz stars in the new “Melrose Place” reboot, while Kutcher is a producer on “The Beautiful Life.” Given the fact that WWE SmackDown! was dropped by The CW in favor of more female-skewing programming, the prospect of actors promoting their CW network projects on a WWE show is noteworthy.
