WWE Confirms McMahon’s Senate Interest, Batista Update

— In a statement issued on its corporate website Friday, WWE confirmed that CEO Linda McMahon is contemplating a run for the United States Senate. She would challenge incumbent democrat Chris Dodd in the 2010 race.

“Linda McMahon, CEO of World Wrestling Entertainment, is considering a run for the United States Senate representing the state of Connecticut. Should she decide to run, Linda would step down as CEO, and Vince McMahon would assume the duties of CEO in addition to his current position as WWE Chairman,” read the statement.

— PWInsider.com reports that WWE Superstar Batista has been cleared to begin a full work out regimen. Assuming his next doctor checkup, slated for the end of the month, goes well, he should be on track for a return this fall.
