Piven Hypes Cena, RAW on NBC, More On Cena’s TV Role

— Though guest RAW host Jeremy Piven did not discuss his WWE involvement on “The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien,” he did detail his appearance on Thursday’s edition of “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.” Piven specifically hyped his in-ring altercation with John Cena (including showing the picture of the jump from the top rope), who he compared to the likely offspring of Mark Wahlberg and a Silverback Gorilla. Similar to his Twitter post, he also joked that Cena added “too much torque” when tossing Dr. Ken Jeong to the outside.

The initial John Cena mention drew virtually no reaction from the crowd.

— From the USA Network press release about Cena’s guest spot on “Psych” — “Cena will play Ewan O’Hara, a special ops soldier and brother to Maggie Lawson’s character, Detective Juliet O’Hara on PSYCH. In this episode entitled “You Can’t Handle This Episode” he will help solve the murder of two soldiers and take down an officer involved in weapons trading.”

In the same story, USA Network called WWE RAW a “ratings phenomenon.” Similarly, the network touted Cena’s appearance as more noteworthy than guest spots from James Brolin, Christine Baranski, Cary Elwes and Sendhil Ramamurthy.
