Update on WWE Champ at Summerslam, Maria, ECW Rating

— This week’s edition of ECW posted a 1.25 rating, according to PWInsider.com. While not a bad rating–it is essentially in line with what the show has been doing this summer–it does indicate that the ECW Championship has limited drawing power; the advertised Tommy Dreamer-Christian title bout did not produce a spike in the show’s overall household number.

— “Play Nice,” WWE.com’s latest Diva gallery, features Maria in a referee uniform.

— Earlier Wednesday, WWE United States Champion Kofi Kingston seemed to confirm his involvement in a Summerslam match on Twitter. “Bout to have my Summerslam tights designed. Gonna be a hot one,” said Kingston, only to later clarify, “Wow! I am getting ahead of myself! Hopefully I’m ON summerslam! Well i’ve got my tights ready either way.” It is unclear if he truly was “getting ahead of himself” or if the retraction was in response to press coverage for the comments.

F4WOnline.com noted that Kingston was originally slated to wrestle The Miz at Summerslam, but this week’s “banning” of Miz from Summerslam signals that WWE is heading in a different direction.
