DX Return Update, RAW Main Event Changes, Shaq

— Regarding the double-submission spot in the WWE Championship match at Night of Champions, the belief most have is that WWE initially decided to bring back the spot for the match as a way to build to the planned John Cena vs. Triple H Summerslam main-event. When the company opted against that match, instead moving towards Randy Orton vs. Cena, it kept the spot in, allowing Orton to retain the belt while still giving the two face wrestlers a chance to display their prowess.

— As most have guessed, the plan is for Shawn Michaels to return as Triple H’s partner in the current feud with Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase (building to a Summerslam match). There has been no confirmation–or even indication–that they will perform with the DX gimmick on television, but there had been talk of the two working as a reunited DX at house shows later in the year.

— The backstage reaction to Shaquille O’Neal’s performance on RAW was very positive.
