Joe K. sent along the following John Cena interview recap conducted in the WGN booth at the Chicago Cubs MLB game this past Saturday afternoon:
They introduced him as a three-time champ and Cena didn’t correct that he was a five-time champ. They talked about how a lot of MLB players like him and that Alfonso Soriano is a big fan of his, which segued into them talking about Soriano doing the “You Can’t See Me” gesture.
They asked how Cena came up with it and he said it was his little brother who came up with it and used it as an insult against him. He told his brother he was going to steal it and use it in the ring. His brother said he was bluffing so Cena took it as a challenge and told him he would get it on TV and it stuck.
They talked about him throwing out the first pitch and he said it was the most nervous he has ever been and that he has performed in front of 80,000 people a WrestleMania. They then thanked him and showed highlights of him throwing out the first pitch and one of the grounds crew members giving him a chop on the chest. At the top of the next inning, the announcers said that sometimes the toughest guys are the nicest and that he was one of the nicest guys they’ve had in the booth.
