WWE RAW Rating Rises

Though the bulk of WWE-related media attention has focused on its arena struggles in Denver, the company did receive a piece of very good news Tuesday.

Ratings have recently faced their typical—and expected—post-WrestleMania decline, and WWE has been looking for a positive signal of viewer interest.  It might have received it this week.

WWE RAW posted a 3.6 rating off hours of 3.51 and 3.66, according to a report on PWInsider.  The overall increase over last week, in addition to the positive growth from hour one two hour two, is definitely a positive for WWE.

It is, nonetheless, premature to draw long-term conclusions about the rating.  Shows following pay-per-views generally perform well, and the additional interest spike from Ric Flair’s return definitely contributed.  But as WWE journeys for a rebound as it awaits Triple H’s return to RAW, it at least can say it took a positive first step.
