The massive projections for P!nk’s “Beautiful Trauma” were not massive enough.<\/p>\n
The album exceeded even the late-week expectations en route to dominating the US album sales and consumption races.<\/p>\n
According to Hits Daily Double and BuzzAngle, “Beautiful Trauma” sold approximately ~384,709 pure US copies during its first week of release.<\/p>\n
With TEA (track sales\/10) and SEA (track streams\/1500) included, “Beautiful Trauma” generated about 407,268 total first-week consumption units.<\/p>\n
The pure sales figure tops that of Kendrick Lamar’s “DAMN.” (353K) to rank as the best opening week tally of 2017.<\/p>\n
The consumption figure trails only those of “DAMN.” (603K), Drake’s “More Life” (505K) and Ed Sheeran’s “Divide” (451K) to rank as the fourth-best of 2017.<\/p>\n
Due Sunday, Billboard’s more authoritative data may differ slightly from that shared by Hits and BuzzAngle. The discrepancies will not, however, change the overall outcomes. The pure sales total will earn “Beautiful Trauma” #1 on the Billboard Top Album Sales chart, while the consumption figure will be enough for #1 on the Billboard 200.<\/p>\n
The aforementioned year-to-date distinctions (best pure sales, 4th-best consumption of 2017) should also stand.<\/p>\n
It is certainly worth noting that “Beautiful Trauma” received a big lift from a ticket concert\/album bundle. According to Hits, about 200K of the 385K pure sales can be attributed to the bundle.<\/p>\n
But even if one completely discounted those 200K sales, “Beautiful Trauma” still debuted with a massive ~185K in pure first week album sales.<\/p>\n
And there is obviously no reason to completely<\/em> discount those sales.
