The emotional “How I Met Your Mother” death storyline paid off in the ratings–despite stronger competition, the veteran CBS comedy again delivered a strong rating.<\/p>\n
The “Last Words” edition of “How I Met Your Mother,” which followed-up on Marshall’s father’s stunning death from “Bad News,” posted a 3.9 adults 18-49 rating with 10.51 million viewers. Essentially in line with the last original, “Mother” did not let the return of “House” stand in the way of a strong ratings showing.<\/p>\n
“House,” in fact, lost to “Mother” in the demo and barely won among total viewers. The FOX drama posted a 3.6 with 10.59 million viewers, leading into a soft “Lie to Me” (1.8 adults 18-49 rating, 5.94 million viewers).<\/p>\n
CBS’ other comedy entries included “Rules of Engagement” (down to a 3.2 with 9.85 million), “Two and a Half Men” (in line at a 4.6 with 15.55 million) and “Mike & Molly” (up to a 3.8 with 13.03 million).<\/p>\n
