Though essentially on par with last week&#8217;s airing, Wednesday&#8217;s broadcast deserves additional credit for achieving the strong rating without a boost from a Halloween-themed episode.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Middle&#8221;&#8216;s performance also spurred an increase for lead-out &#8220;Better With You,&#8221; which was able to match the prior week&#8217;s 2.5 rating with an improved 7.733 million.<\/p>\n<p>ABC&#8217;s other comedy performers included &#8220;Modern Family,&#8221; which easily won the night despite slipping slightly to a 4.8 rating with 12.241 million viewers.  &#8220;Cougar Town&#8221;
