While “The Big Bang Theory” reigned supreme in the ratings department Thursday night, “The Office”‘s performance still gave NBC much about which to smile.<\/p>\n
ABC’s comedy block, including “Modern Family,” received a Halloween-fueled boost Wednesday, and NBC reaped the rewards of the holiday Thursday. Special editions of its comedies all posted improved ratings Thursday, making for a relatively successful night.<\/p>\n
Following the 8PM tandem of “Scared Shrekless” (8.19 million viewers, 2.5 adults 18-49 rating) and an improved “Community” (5.69 million viewers, 2.4 rating), “The Office” surged to a 3.9 demo rating with 8.05 million viewers. “Outsourced” wrapped up NBC’s pair of comedy hours with a 2.7 and 5.92 million watchers.<\/p>\n
The comedy improvements did little to help struggling “The Apprentice,” however, which only offered a 1.4 rating and 3.81 million viewers.<\/p>\n
While final calculations might give the live game two of the MLB World Series the ratings victory, it was CBS’ “The Big Bang Theory” that again scored the win in the fast nationals. The show posted a strong 4.1 adults 18-49 rating with 12.80 million viewers, performing in its usual territory despite steeper competition at 8PM this week. Lead-out “$#*!
