Update:<\/b> While its official Billboard numbers are a bit lower than those reported by BuzzAngle, Incubus’ “8” still debuts near the top of the Billboard Top Album Sales and 200 charts.<\/p>\n
It starts at #2 on the former thanks to what Billboard reports as 49K pure US sales. With TEA (track sales\/10) and SEA (track streams\/1500) added, “8” generated 52K in overall first-week consumption units. That figure is enough for #4 on the Billboard 200.

Sales data has arrived for the April 21-27 tracking week, and Incubus’ “8” delivered numbers just above early projections.<\/p>\n
According to BuzzAngle Music and Hits Daily Double, “8” sold approximately 52,121 pure US copies during its first week of release. With TEA (track sales\/10) and SEA (track streams\/1500) included, it posted an overall US consumption total of 55,169.<\/p>\n
Initial projections called for 48-52,000 sales and 50-55,000 total units.<\/p>\n
Per BuzzAngle-Hits, “8” was #2 for pure sales and #3 for consumption. Kendrick Lamar’s “DAMN.” performed better in both columns (78,463 sales\/233,301 consumption units); Drake’s “More Life” has an edge in consumption (77,959 units).<\/p>\n
Due Sunday, Billboard’s more authoritative data may differ slightly, but it will not change the album’s position on Top Album Sales.<\/p>\n
At worst, “8” may be #4 on the Billboard 200. BuzzAngle and Hits have Ed Sheeran’s “Divide” at #4, but it only trails the Incubus album by about 2400 units. That difference is within the potential margin of error\/discrepancy.<\/p>\n
Released in 2011, Incubus’ “If Not Now, When?” debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200.
