Those looking at ratings might be writing off NBC’s new fall series, but the peacock network is not giving up on its freshmen offerings.<\/p>\n
The network has confirmed back nine orders for “The Event,” “Outsourced” and “Law & Order: Los Angeles,” setting the three series up for full seasons.<\/p>\n
Although “The Event” and “LOLA” have both underwhelmed in the ratings thus far, their full season pickups seemed inevitable due to the the level of support and promotional muscle the network had given the series. Nonetheless, one would assume the shows, particularly in the case of “The Event” (since a show like “LOLA” is likely going to have some sort of baseline) need to halt their ratings declines quickly in order to position themselves as prospects for second season pickups.<\/p>\n
“Outsourced” has not set the world on fire in its plum timeslot behind “The Office,” but the show appears stable enough to justify investment in a full season.<\/p>\n
NBC representatives made it very clear that the network believes in the series creatively and sees their presence on the schedule as essential for the rebuilding phase.<\/p>\n
According to Deadline, it is possible that the low-rated “Chase” could also be in contention for a full season order, while “Undercovers” has reportedly garnered an order for additional scripts.<\/p>\n
